Join us for the latest Grief and Loss Essentials Workshop on September 27

Our current culture is grief and mourning phobic, and does not invite people to recognize, honour, and express their grief. This mindset translates to different domains where we are too often encouraged to stay strong, be brave, and focus on the future. This leaves the bereaved person feeling disenfranchised and needlessly isolated and can lead to unnecessary anxiety, depression, exhaustion, and burnout. As the current bereavement model treats loss from a clinical perspective, many are left floundering as they attempt to navigate the wilderness of their grief. Too often grievers are encouraged and rewarded to be stoic, pushing through the loss to focus on the next win, the next competition, and the next goal. We must do better.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Understanding grief and loss and important thanatological theories
