Sport Law Launches the Sport Leaders Lab

Sport Leaders Lab: A Practice-Based Leadership Experience for Sport Leaders
Registration Now Open - Fall 2026

MAY 27, 2026 - (OTTAWA, Ontario) - Sport Law is proud to announce the launch of the Sport Leaders Lab, a six-session virtual leadership development program designed for coaches, technical directors, high-performance directors, and sport administrators across Canada. Registration is now open for the Fall 2026 cohort, with an early bird pricing deadline of June 30, 2026, and a final application deadline of September 1, 2026.

Building on the proven foundation of the Sport Leaders Retreat - launched in 2017 and completed by dozens of sport leaders nationwide, the Sport Leaders Lab evolves that experience into a structured, multi-month program built for the demands of modern sport leadership. The program is facilitated by Lauren Brett, an accredited Professional Coach with the International Coach Federation and former national team athlete and award-winning coach.

“Sport has long invested in technical expertise and performance excellence,” said Lauren Brett. “Yet many leaders enter leadership roles without structured support for the human side of leadership. The Sport Leaders Lab was created to fill this gap - a space where leaders can practice leadership intentionally, strengthen their internal resources, and build the steadiness required to lead strong and stay in the system.”

Program Structure & Session Dates

The Sport Leaders Lab runs from October through December 2026, with all group sessions held virtually every other Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. ET. Participants also receive one-on-one coaching with Lauren Brett before and after the group program.
