Team Travel: Preparing for Risks Across Borders

The webinar discussed risks related to international travel and explored best practices. Existing approaches to mitigating travel risks have indicated that more can be done to ensure the safety and well-being of athletes, coaches and mission staff when travelling abroad.

Dina Bell-Laroche and Jason Robinson shared their industry learnings and risk management expertise as it relates to international team travel. Recent events, such as the early return of Canada Soccer’s Women’s U-17 National Team and officials from Nicaragua due to heightened civil unrest, reflect an increase in the number of incidents involving Canadian teams travelling outside of Canada for events and training camps.
