This one hour webinar provides sport leaders with insight into proactively planning for worst case scenarios. It involves preparing for high level risks involving safety issues, abuse and harassment, financial management, reputational concerns, hosting of events, and so much more. It is critical to have an effective risk management policy that clearly maps out the risk tolerance, the steps required to manage the crisis, and the communications protocols clearly understood by the Board and Staff. In addition, organizations need to have media savvy spokespeople who are comfortable under the spotlight.
The webinar was presented by Mary Dwyer, the Executive Director of Ontario Artistic Swimming, and Dina Bell-Laroche, Partner, Sport Law & Strategy Group, and provided an insider’s look into how an organization managed through the horrific loss of one of their athletes during the Danforth shooting in August 2018.
