LJ Bartle, BA Journalism, joined Sport Law in 2018 as a natural progression towards making a positive contribution in sport. She has been involved in sport and recreation throughout her life in her professional career and as a participant and volunteer.
After graduating from Ryerson, LJ spent 15 years working as a journalist, mostly at CBC Television News in Toronto. Her favourite part of the job was meeting people who were making a difference and telling their story to inspire others.
When coming upon the opportunity to lead HIGH FIVE in 2007, a national quality standard for children’s sport and recreation, LJ saw the potential to be able to make a difference in children’s lives by providing standards that ensured kids had positive experiences. LJ drove the development, implementation and growth strategy of HIGH FIVE based on an accredited framework of policies, training and assessments. By the time LJ left HIGH FIVE in 2017, it was reaching more than one million kids annually across Canada.
LJ’s years with Sport Law have been immersed in leadership development, strategic planning, sport integrity and organizational development. Her ability to facilitate large groups, lead community engagement and manage comprehensive projects has given her a breadth of knowledge and expertise only matched by her passion for sport and wellness.
As a Nova Global Certified Expert, LJ helps leaders develop through the Nova Profile while also enhancing teamwork, results and workplace environments. Using knowledge and insight gained from the Nova psychometric tool, LJ helps organizations create culture change by applying easy to use innovative and collaborative strategies.
LJ is also a certified Investigator of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).
Outside the office, LJ’s activities include hockey, skiing, pickleball, golf and hiking. Please send LJ an email at LJB@sportlaw.ca to discover what she might offer your organization.
