Published February 13, 2019

The Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) is proud to announce that it is continuing its commitment to give back to the sport community by offering pro-bono consulting services to Spirit North, an organization committed to improving the health and well-being of Indigenous children and youth through the transformative power of sport and play.

“We are honoured to be partnering with Beckie Scott and her team at Spirit North to provide sport management services that will help them achieve their mission in a more efficient, cost-effective, and strategic manner,” shared SLSG Partner, Steve Indig.

“We are thrilled that the SLSG will be supporting us to improve the lives of Indigenous children,” stated Beckie Scott, Olympian and CEO of Spirit North. “We are excited to learn from the best in the business and are excited to take our organization to the next level.”

Since 2015, the SLSG has committed to providing legal, financial, strategic, communications and mentoring support to athlete lead sport organizations whose vision and values align with ours. The first organization to  receive these services is iS4 (www.is4.ca) and given the success of the partnership, the SLSG was ready to expand its contributions to another athlete-lead organization.

“We believe in supporting athletes and this approach allows us to honour our commitment to Give Back (one of the seven True Sport Principles). We believe that as a caring company, it is our duty to find ways to support the sport system beyond what we are already doing,” shared SLSG Partner, Dina Bell-Laroche. The Sport Law & Strategy Group was founded in 1992 and provides a full range of legal and strategic consulting and educational services to sport leaders to elevate the performance of sport organizations in areas such as legal, governance, risk management, strategic planning, leadership development, event and financial management, sponsorship consulting, Integral CoachingTM, strategic communications, safe sport solutions and so much more.
