Recently I became certified as an Integral Master CoachTM with Integral Coaching Canada. The certification process took fourteen months and is recognized by the International Coaching Federation. I’m one of only a few Canadians involved in sport who has been certified in this comprehensive human development learning program and I’ve been actively coaching sport and other professionals since 2012 when I began the program.
Why integral coaching?
After spending the past decade working as a consultant with some of Canada’s leading sport organizations and completing a Master’s degree in Sport Management at Brock University, I noticed that very few sport leaders were accessing their professional development budgets to support their own growth. I found it ironic that while we understand the power of coaching to support excellence on the field of play, very few sport administrators have sought out coaches to enhance their own professional and personal development in a topic area that matters to them. Integral Coaching Canada is recognized as being one of the premier coaching schools and while I worked through the program I gained a rich appreciation for the complexities associated with human development and what is required to integrate and sustain meaningful change.
Today’s sport leaders have to deal with complex issues and many of them don’t have the same kind of support network that was in place 10 years ago for mentoring, leadership development, and progressive succession planning. My vision is to create an environment where sport leaders can have access to the same level of growth and learning opportunities as our athletes and coaches do. Ultimately, my passion is to make a difference in sport. With my experience as a sport leader across a number of different organizations and my deep appreciation for what it takes to become a world-leading sport nation, I believe I can serve sport administrators who are looking to generate breakthrough and sustainable results.
Here’s what a few of my clients have said about the impact my coaching has had on their personal and professional growth:
"Working with Dina was a tremendous experience. She managed to bring out qualities in myself I didn't know were there. She was always extremely open and welcoming and I found myself able to grow in the comfortable environment she created. I use the tools and ideas Dina provided me every day and am thankful to have had time with her."
Kristina Kiss, Olympian and Technical Director, West Ottawa Soccer Club
"My coaching experience with Dina was a game changer. Retraining your brain is no easy task, but she helps to weave the progression with care and ease."
Susanna Penning, Accredited Mortgage Professional
“After decades of managing others in increasing numbers and in progressively senior roles, I thought there was little more to learn. I was wrong. Dina helped me to open pathways to new knowledge and approaches that will help me be the best leader I can be.”
Doug MacQuarrie, MEd, Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport
