For more than 25 years the SLSG has been committed to providing current and relevant information to the Canadian sport community to help better manage the complexities facing sport today. COVID-19 is no exception. The pandemic has had a significant impact on the world at large and on the world of sport. The SLSG joins the sport community in working together to support each other and to navigate these challenging times as we move sport towards a ‘better normal’.
Because of our strong values and passion to make sport better, the SLSG Team has written many blogs, hosted several conversations with hundreds of sport organizations, and provided helpful tips, expertise and updates on COVID-19. March 10, 2020 – Preparing for COVID-19 and Managing the Travel Risk
In this blog, Jason Robinson announces the new appendix to the Travel Policy Suite, titled Infectious Disease Prevention. The document outlines the transfer of infectious diseases and the key preventative measures that are shared by the Government of Canada and WHO. It also details the general protocol for what to do when a team member is believed to have contracted an infectious disease. The inclusion of this appendix serves to further fortify the Travel Policy Suite and provide sport organizations with a comprehensive tool for managing their travel risks.
